    1. Hi Shelly,

I agree with your thoughts in this post. Agriculture and aquaculture is widely seen as an old occupation which is male dominated and not exactly moving with the times. I do believe having an online presence not only captures the millennial audience but also gives consumers a platform to see what’s it like as a young person on a farm or at sea (in my case) and see how foods are grown. It gives all target groups the opportunity to interact with growers and marketers of our local farms.
Jamaica is flooded with fast food chains, that’s quite affordable and very accessible, every 10 seconds there’s an ad somewhere about one of these fast food chains. By seeing these so often persons are bound to eat these foods right around the clock but if healthy local foods are made that accessible and advertised on such a large scale then the industry won’t struggle, we won’t have so many of our farmers leaving to grow on foreign lands and there’ll be less wastage on farms.
Having an online presence changes everything, it will open many doors, ignite great ideas and build relationships that can make a very big impact on the industry.
I’m definitely on board with this initiative.
